Quite recently remains of the cruciform church of St. Paul of the monastery of the Servites were discovered incorporated in later constructions; the monastery is noted on the map of R. Werdmüller near the square and the palace of the General Curator of the Cavalry, that is in a little distance to the South of the Metropolis of St. Menas. The arched porticos of the atrium are still preserved, as well as the barrel-vaulted southern wing of the transept, which was indicated also by G. Gerola. The church can possibly be identified as the one constructed outside the old defensive enceinte by Andrea Dandolo in 1346.
